Targeted youth support: critical questions

The Decision Point 2 presentation to the senior management group, at the end of the Deepen stage of the targeted youth support change process, outlines the quantitative and qualitative data gathered during the first three stages of the process.

This information - 'the truth about today' - is considered by the management group, which then agrees a series of critical questions that need to be addressed if outcomes for young people are to improve within the chosen scope area.

This establishes senior management alignment and enables resources to be committed to the next two stages of the change programme: Develop and Deliver.

Before Decision Point 2 the change process has an analytical feel, collecting and making sense of data on current service provision.

After Decision Point 2 the process is more about developing solutions and beginning to implement them. This requires an inclusive and collaborative style of working and involves the development of change teams.
